MI Global Construction Pty Ltd (trading as Midwest Modular and as a Sheds n Homes franchisee) (“MI Global”, “we”, “us”) respects your privacy and is committed to handling your personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it and how you can contact us about it.
What we collect
We may collect personal information you provide to us directly, including your name, email address, phone number, postal or site address, details about your proposed project (such as building type, size, budget range, timeframe and finance status), and any other information you include in an enquiry, quote request, contract or correspondence. We may also collect information about your visit to our website, such as your IP address, browser type, pages viewed and referring site, through cookies and standard web server logs.
How we collect it
We collect information when you complete a form on our website, email or phone us, meet with us, sign a contract, or interact with us on social media. Our website contact form uses Google Maps to help you enter a site address; use of that feature is subject to Google’s privacy policy.
Why we collect it
We use your information to respond to enquiries, prepare estimates and quotes, design and deliver your project, arrange finance referrals where you ask us to, lodge planning and building applications on your behalf, meet our legal and contractual obligations, and improve our services and website. With your consent, we may also send you information about our products and services. You can opt out of marketing at any time by contacting us.
Who we share it with
We may share your information with our partner builder and licensed contractors engaged on your project, our drafting, engineering and energy assessment consultants, certifiers and local government authorities, finance providers you ask us to refer you to, the Sheds n Homes franchise network for shed orders, our IT and website service providers, and professional advisers. We do not sell your personal information. Some service providers may store data outside Australia; where they do, we take reasonable steps to ensure it is handled in line with Australian privacy law.
Storage and security
We store personal information in secure electronic systems and, where necessary, in paper files at our Geraldton office. We take reasonable steps to protect it from misuse, loss, unauthorised access, modification or disclosure, and we retain it only as long as needed for the purposes above or as required by law.
Cookies
Our website may use cookies and analytics tools to understand how visitors use the site. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, although some parts of the site may not function fully as a result.
We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site. Our Budget Planner and studio Selections tools send the address you enter to OpenStreetMap (Nominatim) and Landgate (SLIP) to find the location, wind region and distance from our depot. Your name and contact details are not sent to these services.
Access and correction
You may request access to the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it, by contacting us using the details below. We will respond within a reasonable time and may need to verify your identity first.
Complaints
If you believe we have breached your privacy, please contact us and we will investigate and respond. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at www.oaic.gov.au.
